Today, we tour heritage sites in Kathmandu. We start a guided tour from your hotel to four heritage sites in Kathmandu listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. First, we visit Pashupatinath Temple situated on Bagmati River banks where Aryaghat, a famous funeral site for Hindus, lies. After sightseeing, we visit Boudhanath, the Buddhist shrine, one of the world's largest stupa. Boudhanath is one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimages, including over 50 Tibetan Gompas or monasteries, and is a popular tourist destination. Soon enough, the tour leads to Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Basantapur. The place holds the medieval king's palaces who once ruled over the Kathmandu Kingdom. Our last tour will be Swayambhu (the self-existent). It is one of the famous touristic areas where we find a large monkey population. After sightseeing, we'll go back to the hotel, and you can have a rest. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
The following day, we prepare for a ride to Pokhara. You can also take a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara as per you want. The flight is about 30 minutes. You can view outstanding views of snowy peaks during the flight.
This is our first day of the trek. We drive to Naya Pul via Pokhara in about 2 hours. After we reach Naya Pul, we start our trek walking through the south bank of Modi River that takes us to Birethanti. The trail leads to Bhurungdi Khola, Sudame, pass Lamdawali and Hile. Along the trail, we come across a few waterfalls and enjoy nature. Then we finally reach Tikhe Dhunga with 2 hours walk. We spent our night in a lodge there.
After breakfast in Tikhe Dhunga, our trail begins climbing through a long uphill with more than 3000 stone steps. Climbing uphill, we reach Ulleri. After we pass Banthani and Nangge Thanti through the Rhododendron and Oak forest, we finally reach today's destination, Ghorepani, in about 5 to 6 hours. It is the gateway to Poon Hill. We have the best sunrise view from here, and we stay our night in lodge here.
We wake up early this day to witness the first sun ray striking the mountains. We climb uphill to Poon Hill (3193m), where the stunning sunrise over the mountains becomes visible. Hereafter, we rest in Ghorepani. After the short break, our trail resumes, and we head to the east, where we pass across Deurali pass and Ban Thanti. We walk through the rhododendron forest that leads to Thulo Odar. Then we make a steep descent with a short climb. Ultimately, we reach Tadapani where we spent a night in the lodge.
From Tadapani, we head towards Ghandruk village. The culture and great hospitality of people in the village is something to cherish.
Today, we trek down to Nayapool and take a drive to Pokhara. The great green valley, traditional village, and agricultural fields during the trek are fascinating. And walking through the Modi river.
In the morning, we have our breakfast in the hotel and drive back to Kathmandu in about 6 to 7 hours. After arriving in Kathmandu, you will be taken to the hotel where you can relax and stay overnight. Or you can also fly to Kathmandu.
